I've noticed something about trying to install staroffice 5.1
from the cdrom on RedHat 6.0/6.1...you can't. I have a Sun
CDROM with staroffice 5.1 on it. If I am running Mandrake 6.5
or 7.0, all I need to do is mount the cdrom, enter the linux
subdirectory and run setup /net as superuser and viola, install
starts up just fine. If I do the same thing in RH, it wont
let me. I get a message (can't recall what it is...sorry)
basically telling me no can do. I have to copy the contents
of the linux office51 directory onto my local harddrive and
run setup from there.
What is this anyway? I install RH without any wierd
settings, give users the right to mount the cdrom, but
it wont work even running as superuser. In Mandrake, it works
fine.
