I had the same problem putting a Voodoo3 in a HP Pavilion: there are no
jumpers or BIOS level switches by design. (Pretty damn stupid...)
Anyway, use xf86config to set up X, and not XConfigurator: it will only see
your onboard graphics chip. Once I had set up the Voodoo in xf86config and
downloaded the proper Xserver, it worked like a champ.
