Hi Steven,
The program you're thinking about that runs on dos/Windows is
NORTON Commander, by peter Norton. There also has been for some time now a
Unix nc look alike called MIDNIGHT Commander (mc) that looks almost
identical to nc , (at least the one run in a terminal is,) but it was made
just for Unix/Linux OS's and has some really nifty time and labor saving
features. It was _not_ written by Peter Norton, but rather by a whole bunch
of Unix/Linux users most of whom are listed in the man page.
If you have Redhat installed then it's probably already on your
hard drive. Just open a terminal and type `mc' to start it. If you have
Gnome then it's definitely installed. (It is the Gnome file browser, and
looks very different when run in an X gui without a terminal. My
instructions concern only the one you start by typing `mc' in a vt.)
If it's not installed then check your install disk for the rpm, or
go to the Midnight Commander page on the World Wide Web:
            http://www.gnome.org/mc/
You can probably also find a rpm file at the Red Hat site or it's mirrors.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen,
Russ.
