You simply remove the card. As long as the kernel has other IDE SCSI
support, that's fine.
I'm not sure why you want to remove the card - if it is unused, then
simply remove it, no changes required. If it is being used, why remove
it? I run my server with a Promise card and two 30 gig drives. I run at
full ATA66 speed, with no problem (other than one of the drives was
initially bad and had to be replaced).
