WinmodemIt depends on the chipset.  Lucent has a kernel module
http://www.lucent.com/ ) that is supposed to work, but I haven't gotten it
up yet.  They only supply the compiled module (.o) and no source and not
much documentation.

should i get a new modem or is there a way
to get the winjunkmodem to work?
