yeah...I had that problem when I played around with imwheel and change my mouse
type....after I changed it back to the way it was before no problem.
do a CTRL-ALT-F2 ..log in as root and vi /etc/X11/XF86Config and delete those
lines (this is assuming you have imwheel config which I don't know if you do)
mine XF86Config looks like this: stripped out comments though

Device "/dev/mouse"
# Emulate3Buttons is an option for 2-button Microsoft mice

after your done modifying and saving it...CTRL-ALT-F7 to get back to your
graphical screen then CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE to restart X.
