If you want to refer to everything by IP, no. If you want to call
machines by name, yes. In a small network, I'm not sure DHCP gains
you anything. In a larger network, where laptops are going to pop on
and off etc, it probably becomes more feasible. Now, if you're going
to have friends come over with their laptops, then DHCP may be more
appropriate.
