Linux PCI Modem support

Are there any PCI  internal modems supported in RH 6.2?
Which chipsets should I be looking for?

I have a Dell Dimension which only has PCI slots,  so If I'm to use an
internal modem it has to be PCI.  Or would it be better to 
get an external  modem?
