According to /var/run/gdm.pid gdm was already running (1153)
but seems to have been murdered mysteriously.
Really funny....too bad the programmer couldn't stop this thing from constantly
looping every 3 seconds.
Hmmm...pinstripe was more stable than this. I did a workstation install just to
see. I guess only custom will work. I hit SHIFT-F2 and logged in quickly but
the screen keeps flashing. I wish I could kill the process but can't type that
fast in under 2 to 3 seconds. I've rebooted 3 times. Ok then well guess it's
7.ooohh. Anyone else encounter this?
btw with that xinetd...I'm sure many will encounter this but after you make a
configuration change instead of the usually
killall -HUP xinetd OR kill -HUP <xinetd-pid> (this won't work)
you have to use (this is from memory when using pinstripe)
kill -10 <xinetd-pid>
man xinetd and kill --help
