Interpreting commands with sendmail alias...

I'm trying to make an alias to pipe the e-mail to a simple program, like
that:

email:    "|/bin/program"

But sendmail is returning me a message telling the "service is not
available"...  The program has full permition to all. Can anyone figure
out what is happening?
