Simple kernel question

I just upgraded my RH7.0 laptop to 7.1 and during the
update, it had me allocate an additional 250 MB swap
file on my disk.  It now resides at /SWAP.  Is it safe
for me to remove this file or is it a permanent
addition to the memory configuration?
