kernel crash

Hi All,

I am currently running redhat 7.0 kernel 2.2.16, and as of a few days I have
been having the box crash due to ovesized packets.

the following is from /var/log/messages:

Aug  1 15:32:26 redhat-box kernel: Oversized packet received from
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

I know this may be FAQ, but is there a known fix without having to upgrade
to 7.1 say.

Is there some fixed source code so I can recompile 2.2.16
