Running RH 6.2. I've noticed that when I do a
netstat ?l
I get the following:
Active Internet connections (only servers)
Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State
tcp 0 0 *:ssh *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 aurora.xxxxx.com:imap2 *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 *:smtp *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 *:auth *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 *:sunrpc *:* LISTEN
udp 0 0 hb1:ntp *:*
udp 0 0 aurora.xxxxx.com:ntp *:*
udp 0 0 aurora.xxxxx.com:ntp *:*
udp 0 0 *:ntp *:*
udp 0 0 *:sunrpc *:*
raw 0 0 *:icmp *:* 7
raw 0 0 *:tcp *:* 7
Active UNIX domain sockets (only servers)

Fyi, the host name is aurora, and there's a second NIC on it that I've
called hb1, though I doubt it's relevant to my question.
Given that I've turned nfs completely off, why is sunrpc out there?
