Do yourself a favor and get a nice ISA-based, non-winmodem, or an
external. You'll have far fewer headaches. If you don't have ISA,
external still works.
I got a Phoebe internal ISA for $35 3 years ago (56K to boot). They
can't be more expensive now, presuming they're still in business. You
can find decent quality non-winmodems without paying a fortune. Even
some PCI-based, though I'm not recommending any of them because I
haven't tried them.
Yes, those on the list likely can be made to work. Yes, they'll take
some playing around with things to accomplish it, most likely. My time
is worth more to me than $5-20 extra spent on a modem that works right
the first time.
