I have installed 6.2 onto a TP600 with no problems at all (IBM have even
released code to drive the modem!) but the disk was only 4GB. For bigger
disks you have to upgrade LILO or boot of a floppy. I see no reason why BM
should not work, I use XOSL instead which does the same job and it works fine
(and it's SVGA :-)) ). I have also installed RH7.1 onto an TP i1200 with a
20GB disk and that went straight on (there are no XFree86 issues with either
a 600 or a 1200).
However, RH7.1 comes with the LM sensors modules installed by default, and
apparently these can hose the mobo of a 600 forever, so you had better check
the LM sensors home page to check the status of this and any work-arounds!
