I'm currently running RH7 (Guinness) on a Dell Latitude CPi 266. The
installed kernel recognizes my 3Com 3c575 PCMCIA network card with no
problem.
When I compile in the PCMCIA support into 2.4.1, I notice that it
only gives me an option for a 3c574. After doing a make menuconfig,
and selecting the 3c574, compiling, etc...and rebooting, the PCMCIA
driver does not properly recognize/initialize my NIC.
As a test, I redid the compile...after the config part, I went into
.config, and added a line for 3c575=y which matched the line for the
3c574.
The compile didn't give any grief about it during compile.
However, when all is said and done, I still don't wind up with a
properly initialized NIC when the PCMCIA service is started.
Any idea what the heck I am doing wrong, or what I need to do?
And is there a 2.4.x kernel rpm available, or coming, soon, from
RedHat?
