IE and RH7/Apache & ssl

So, anyone else having the problem where IE won't connect to your secure 
server? The Apache-ssl, mod_ssl and OpenSSL sites have lots of people with
the same problem, but the fixes from the mod_ssl site don't work. Any
suggestions? (Yes, I'm frustrated.) It seems that installing from tarballs
might alleviate the issue, but WHY?!? Thanks for your time.
