eth0: Trying to restart the transmitter

i have been running a redhat6.1 web server well for a long time,but recently,the server is automatically down for a few times,i check the log messages it looks as following:
eth0: Trying to restart the transmitter...
eth0: Transmit timed out: status ffff  ffff at 186785/186799 command 000c0000
what is the wrong with my server?

by the way,my netcard is:"eth0: Intel EtherExpress Pro 10/100 at 0x1080,
 00:90:27:E0:45:6C, IRQ 21."
