Re: Mounting a win/dos logical partition

Uh, I just actually tried to mount to /dev/hdb5, and it worked. I can access my files there. I'm not really sure what happen. But I remember when I partitioned my HD with PQ magic, it says that win95 cannot handle more than 1 primary partition, that's why it then created an extended/logical partition (/dev/hdb2) and another partition under that extended partition so that win95 can access it.... somehow. When I did fdisk then, it looks like as if both /dev/hdb2 and /dev/hdb5 starts from the same point, but I think it was the PQ magic doing.

OK, I'm starting to confuse my self again, so I better stop :). Thanks Matthew for your help, I appreciated it.

"It looks bad Ray". You're /dev/hdb2 doens't look right at all - See how
the start and end points of partition 2 and 5 are the same? I suspect that
should be your extended parition but it's ID has been set to Win95. I doubt
you can mount /dev/hdb2 but try /dev/hdb5. I don't know what to recomend if
your partition table looks screwy like that. Maybe you can just set it back
to type 6 and all will be well but really all bets are off. :/
