Well, you can still change kernels. The rawhide distro (which is a sorta
beta of future RH release) has 2.4.3 right now. I tried an earlier 2.4.3
from there and crashed a lot. This one seems pretty stable so far (3 days
now).

I downloaded an upgraded KDE using rpms. I can't recall the location but,
I know I started by going to the main KDE page. I'm not really sure that
fixed it, though. I'll try booting into KDE later and see what it does
right now.
