Could any explain why I experienced this when setting up 6.2?
I setup my 6.2 system with pmfirewall and then proceeded to setup my e-mail
service. I quickly had sendmail functioning correctly, I could send and
receive e-mail from the Linux box. I could even send e-mail from my W98
box with Eudora. However, when I tried to check my e-mail with Eudora, I
got responses that it could not see the popserver. This went on for quite
some time. I finally tried to run inpop3d at a command prompt on the Linux
box to see if I could read it there. I could and then I shut it down,
rebooted and from that time forward, the popserver worked for the client
machines. Even after rebooting a number of times, it works fine.
Is it necessary to "initialize" the popserver?????
Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated so if I have to rebuild the
machine, I won't waste a great deal of time trying to figure it out.
