RedHat 7.1 refusing to cleanly install

I am at the end of my knowledge: after 8 oder 9 tries
to install RedHat 7.1 I don't know what to do to get this
system installed:
I always did a custom install ... I formatted the
partitions with Disk Druid before the install ... after the
install I had to realize the fact, that between 10% - 20% of
the software I told the installer to install was not on the
system, and when I did a
rpm -V -a
after the install, I got sometimes dozens of
"Unsatisfied dependencies" - the attachment in this mail is
the result of a
rpm -V -a
from some days ago. After other 7.1 installs I got much more
errors than the ones attached here - I chose this short result
to attach with respect to download times.
Furthermore, after such installs, when I tried to mount a CD-Rom
the 7.1 system told me there was no driver present to do
that (after at least one 7.1 install the system apparently *had*
the driver) ...
when I tried to mount a vfat partition (W.98 on it) 7.1 tells
me something like "vfat" was "not supported by this kernel"

When I did a
df -i
after such an install I got this (excerpt):
-------------------------------------------------
Filesystem Inodes Iused IFree IUse
 .. hda7 226240 47816 178424 22%
 .. hda3 204800 13275 191525 7%
 .. hda6 4016 23 3993 1%
 .. hda9 96576 17 96559 1%
---------------------------------------------------
the partitions:
hda7 (1764 MB) = /
hda3 (800 MB) = just files, no programs on it
hda6 (15 MB) = /boot
hda9 (753 MB) = /home
... and I have more than I Giga SWAP (RAM more than
500 MB)

As far as I understand (which is not very much .. I am
a beginner with Linux) this inodes result seems to
be okay ... am I right?

I'm stuck.
Regards, and thanks for your help in anticipation.
Wolfgang
