you should see what is reported in the bios - general
characteristics or some such heading
You should be able to auto-detect the disk or enter the
relevant disk parameters

try the above and then attempt a 6.2 install. If that
works ok then attempt a 7.1 install. If 7.1 fails
to install then I would suspect corruption of the
cd image and obtan a fresh 7.1 cd from an alternative
source.

...mmmm I'm not convinced its a 7.1 issue per se
