Small Problems

Hi;
I've built RH71 on a new box. This is my first install, although I've been 
running an RH box for a while. I had an error on install that the box 
wouldn't allow me to develop a boot disk, so I ran the following:

dd if=/boot/vmlinuz of=/dev/fd0 bs=8192
end_request: I/O error, dev 02:00 (floppy), sector 0
dd: opening '/dev/fd0': Read-only file system
rdev /boot/vmlinuz
Root device /dev/sde1

I also had an error during the install with regard to the ethernet 
connection (eth0). The box does have an ethernet card.
