For xwindows, look for a program called numlockx and install it. It can be
done on the console, too, but I don't recall how.

Add an ~/.xinitrc or ~/.xsessions file for the appropriate wm. The manpages
tell you how and many examples are out there on webpages.

Add this line to any .xinitrc file you might create:
xset -blank 0
I think that's the proper syntax. I'm at work right now and stuck with M$
slavery for a couple of hours. You can type 'man xset' (no quotes) to get
the proper syntax.
