Re: How to connect to AOL in linux

My mother-in-law uses AOL and I tried to find a way to migrate her to Linux
several months ago. At that time, I searched for a Linux AOL client and
found some rumors but no code. I considered trying Wine and, unless an AOL
client for Linux has materialized in the mean time, I recommend you go that
route (or one of the emulators like Win4Linux (?) or vmware). If you do a
web search and check-out the Winehq page, you'll find others who have tried
and their successes and failures.

... or you could get a regular ISP account. I have a hard time imagining
AOL ever producing an AOL client for Linux. And IMHO the kind of people who
could reverse-engineer the Windows client and create a Linux version are not
the kind of people who are using AOL in the first place.
