Thanks. I finally got the DLink NIC to work today. I came across updated drivers, as an RPM, with very good instructions on how to install them. It came up great.

What a waste of a night......

I can only think of two things to help you right now.

1. run out and buy 3 cheap nics (< $20 each retail)

2. Try the cards individually. Start off with no nics. Then put one in,
and get it to work. Then add another and so on. Make sure you have the
latest drivers from either the manufacturer or Donald Becker (scyld.com)

The strange thing is, that for the most part, I have had excellent luck
with nics under linux - they "just work" - including laptops.
