Summarizing:
Apparently you are having a problem with installing from the cd image
that you created and you suspect you might have a bad image, either on
the cd itself or the file that you downloaded. And you indicate that
you didn't bother to run md5sum on your downloaded images.
For what it is worth, I always run md5sum on the downloaded images.
And for some reason I had to download disc1 4 times before I got
one that checked OK. Disc2, the sources and the docs disc were all
OK the first time.
If your image checks fine using md5sum, you can also run md5sum
against the cd. Edit the downloaded MD5SUM file and remove all
lines except the one for the cd you want to check. Then replace
the file name (for example enigma-SRPMS-disc1.iso) with the path
to your cd device (for example /dev/cdrom). Mount the cd and then
run md5sum. It will take a while, but you should come up with OK.
(This of course assumes that you checked your image and it was OK to
begin with.)
