Not sure why this is happening, but I have a RH7.1 system with an older
Diamond Fireport 40 SCSI controller hooked to 3 devices. Ones a CDROM,
ones a Zip 100, and the other is a Plextor 12/4/32 CD-RW. If I tail my
/var/log/messages file I see the following messages just continually
spewing onto my screen at the rate of about 20/sec:
Sep 1 13:41:51 madmax kernel: sym53c875J-0-<1,0>: sync: per=25
scntl3=0x30 scntl4=0x0 ofs=16 fak=0 chg=0.
Sep 1 13:41:51 madmax kernel: sym53c875J-0-<1,0>: sync msgout:
1-3-1-19-10.
Sep 1 13:41:51 madmax kernel: sym53c875J-0-<1,0>: sync msg in:
1-3-1-19-10.
What is up with that? All the devices appear to be working just fine, I
can mount/unmount/read all of them. This filled up my root partition the
other day after I left it on all night. Anyone know what this is all
about and how I can at least silence this nuisance?
Thanks,
-Ken
