Hi Jason,
On Saturday, September 01, 2001, 3:18:55 PM, you babbled something about:
JWE> What is the "Save Yourself" command? I keep getting "no response to the
JWE> Save Yourself command. The program may be slow, stopped, or broken. You
JWE> may wait for it to respond or remove it." every time I start X and
JWE> sometimes when I log out. I always choose "remove" since the other button
JWE> just made the message come back (now it goes away until next login or log
JWE> out). I'm using 7.1. I guess this isn't a big problem but it's a little
JWE> annoying.
It's the gnome-session manager. The error response is likely due to
something not being "gnome aware".
You have two options...
1. You can try a command line argument similar to --sm-disable which likely
wont help, but sometimes it will. It tells the program to disable the
session manager.
or
2. You could make it start with a script which unsets SESSION_MANAGER from
the environment.
Hope it helps.
Have fun,
