This is a guess, and may be totaly off, but lets see how I do... If the
following are true, there is a good chance I am correct...
/dev/cdrom point to your SCSI CD-ROM.
You are running KGE or Gnome desktop.
If you leave X, and are only logged in from the desktop,
the messages stop.
If you put a CD in the drive, the messages stop.
If this is the case, the messages come from checking to see if a CD has
been put in the drive. One way to make them stop is to turn off autorun
in the desktop settings. You can also remove an rpm, but I can not
remember the name. magicdev or something like that...
