I don't recall using chkconfig to setup a script in
/etc/sysconfig/networking-scripts??

You must be right though as you wouldn't have said that otherwise..

I just tried using that on some existing scripts - to look at them, etc..
and the system doesn't see them or understand what I am doing.

To make it a little clearer - could you give me an example of how chkconfig
is used to take a newly created script and make all the symlinks etc.. that
are needed for that script to be used at the various run levels.

Lets say the name of the script was 'slo-it'. Would you type chkconfig --add
slo-it? Or do you use 'chkconfig --level 2345 slo-it on'.
Please give me an example..
