Re: Telnet promt delay ....



The machine acting as the telnet server is having trouble resolving the IP
addresses of the client systems to named addresses, and is timing out on
the reverse lookup.

If possible, set up reverse DNS for the client machines.  Otherwise, add
the IP addresses of the client systems into the server system's /etc/hosts
file, with a name of some sort.  Either way will fix the problem.
