Hello all,
I have a couple of servers running 7.1 and one running 6.2. I recently
updated Sendmail via Up2Date to 8.11.6-1.6 and have some oddities on the 6.2
server. The install renamed the old sendmail.cw and did not replace and did
not replace it with a new one. This was not a problem on the 7.1 servers
but, Sendmail on the 6.2 server would not run without it. I just renamed
the old empty sendmail.cw.rpmorig file to sendmail.cw and restarted Sendmail
and all seems fine. Why is it that 6.2 bombs without the .cw and 7.1
doesn't?
Also there was a new line in the sendmail.cf on the 6.2 server that I
have not seen before at the very end. I commented it out but it was
"Cwlocalhost.localdomain". I think the problems are that the sendmail.mc
file was in /etc rather than /etc/mail where the rpm update seems to have
been looking for it so the update just created all new files rather than
upgrading my existing set of config files. Is there any problem with just
going back to my original sendmail.mc and recreating my sendmail.cf and
using the blank sendmail.cw?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!
Bob
