I only just compiled it a little earlier myself. It worked fine for me.
But, I commected some things out in the Makefile so that it wouldn't
error out and stop the process. I didn't get a graphical interface and I
had to do a reinstall not long after (due to many other kludges I've
done over the last weeks), so I didn't have much time to investigate
why. But, the video portion worked fine from a commandline.

I dumped the source (as I always do) after the compilation. I'll need to
do another compile of it tomorrow if you don't see the right lines to
remove and decide you want to test it.

As always, YMMV even though the video worked fine for me.
