Hi all,
How do I enable ECP/EPP mode for my parallel port? I am using Redhat 7.3.
In BIOS, ECP mode is already set.
Doing 'dmesg' gives:
parport0: PC-style at 0x378 (0x778) [PCSPP,TRISTATE]
parport0: irq 7 detected
parport0: Printer, HEWLETT-PACKARD DESKJET 690C
I have got a parallel port scanner connected to my HP Deskjet printer
too. I was told that if ECP is detected, it should appear in the above
'dmesg' info.
The reason I want to enable ECP/EPP mode is because I am using Win4lin
and VMware to use my scanner under Windows. However my scanner didn't
work as expected and looking at the scanner's software diagnose, it was
connected to a SPP mode port. When trying to use the scanner under real
Windows, it showed that the scanner was connected to an EPP port.
Regards,
Alimin
