Newbie: How do I get my scroll wheel mouse to work???

How can I get the scroll wheel to work in KDE, mine's just a basic wheel mouse 
made by logitech for my compaq computer if it helps any the model number is 
M-S48 and I'm runnning version 7.3 of redhat...

Please if the website with a program or such does not have an idiots proof 
guide to setting it up will you please include one in your message... Thanks
