6.0 is not a good idea since the kernel has remotely-exploitable
security holes.  You'd be responsbile for keeping it up to date with all
the packages you've got installed since Red Hat only provides fixes for
6.2 and later.

An up to date 6.2 system wouldn't too bad a place to start, but I don't
know if 6.2 was ever supported on a 386.
