kernel panic for what reason?

Hi everyone, 
Today I got my second kernel panic in the last couple of months.
My system usually runs smoothly.
I looked in /var/log but couldn't work out which file might contain what
happened.

So, can anyone tell me what /might/ cause this?
and where it might be recorded so that I can post the log?
