I have done
# echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
Unfortunately it does not solve the problem,
when I am pinging the router (192.168.0.1) from the
dial-in box (192.168.0.177) I am getting the message:

#netstat -nr on the dial-in server (192.168.0.177):

ifconfig on the dial-in server (192.168.0.177):
eth0
inet addr: 192.168.0.177 Bcast:192.168.0.255
Mask:255.255.255.0
ppp0
inet addr: 192.168.0.177 P-t-P:192.168.0.178 Mask:
255.255.255.255
Any suggestion, please?
