ftp and php problems

hi !

I work in a Sun Cobalt RaqXTR server, Apache 1.3, php 4.2

I made a php script to download files using ftp functions ...
when I just do php -q myscript.php I have this error message :
Call to undefined function:  ftp_connect()

Can you help me please ?

ps: I have --enable-ftp in the phpinfo()
