NFS mount

I am trying to mount an NFS directory. I am having an issue. I try the
following command:
mount 10.10.10.6:/home/ch /home/ch
and recieve the following error:
mount: RPC: Program not registered

I have read that this can be a port mapper issue, so I added the following
to my /etc/hosts.allow file to no avail:
portmap: 10.10.0.0 255.255.0.0

Why? Port mapper is running at startup.
