Hi,
I am running redhat 7.3. my localhost is the default that came with the
install
(ie file contents of /etc/hosts is : 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain
localhost)
When I am a SU, i can ping my localhost successfully and when i bring up
gnome(startx)
the localhost is read properly and runs without errors.
if I am logged in as a user, i am in a korn shell, i cannot ping local host
(the file /etc/hosts hasn't
changed) and when I start gnome(startx) i get the message "localhost not
found, please correct the problem
in the /etc/hosts file.
Any ideas?
