hi guys
i ve a red hat linux 7 version
iam facing a problem while login in to my system
i am getting the login prompt to enter
uesr id :
entering the userid and pressing enter refreshes back to the
user id :
login prompt
so i tried restarting my system in single user mode
i ve seen the /bin/login script
its file size was 0 bytes and the permition was
644
i copied the /bin/login script from another m/h and tried replacing my
login script but... i couldnt able to do
i then tried changing the permision to 755 like this
chmod 755 /bin/login (in single user mode with super user permission)
but is gave a message
permission denied
i tried removing to remove the /bin/login script as
rm -f /bin/login
but it gave a message like
rm: cannot unlink 'login' : Operation not permitted
i am totally helpless
please give me a solution for this..
regards
