Well, I have no intention of installing GNOME or KDE or the likes of
StarOffice, XEmacs or TeTeX on that machine, so I should be able to par it
down to 1GB. But even if I don't - it's relatively easy to buy a bigger HD
for a laptop. Buying a new CPU is impossible and even adding RAM can be a
nightmare, so I have to get those two right from the start.
The box will probably be running some lightweight window manager - just
enough to start the programs necessary.
