upgrade to the redhat release which includes glibc 2.3 (8.0 or newer?)
redhat 7.3 is on glibc 2.2.

glibc is the CORE of the distribution(other then the kernel). if you
were to install it without doing  a "proper" upgrade you can very easily
destroy the system.

or get the source rpm and rebuild it from source(probably best bet)
