sendmail problem

I am having a strange problem with sendmail on one of my RH9 boxen. Actually I
have 4 boxen, and sendmail works well on three of them, but not on the fourth. I
am stymied as to why. The boxen are not identical, but they nearly are. All run
RH9 with the latest service releases. On the fourth box (which happens to be my
email server), this is what I see if I send an email to an outside address (I
posted this part of this post in an earlier post):
mail -v myaccount outsideaccount com
...
outsideaccount.com: Name server timeout
myaccount outsideaccount com transient parse error -- message queued for
future delivery.
The message is sitting in the /var/spool/mqueue directory.
If I switch to postfix, I don't have this problem. I don't have it on the other
three boxen either. Also, I did a nslookup on outsideaccount.com and it worked
immediately.
Any thoughts?
