I just installed LimeWire on a RH 8 box today. Download the j2re-1_3_1_06
bin file. Once you run it you will have an rpm file called jre1.3.1_06.
Install this rpm then edit your .bash_profile and add
/usr/java/jre1.3.1_06/bin. Exit and log back and do an echo $PATH to be
sure you've got the jre in your path. Now run the LimeWireLinux.bin file
and it should go in.
My problem is that I get a series of warnings about it being unable to
create virtual key links. However, the real problem is that I can't
change the options in Tools/Option menu. The changes won't take. Trying
to do so twice in a row will lock the session.
It will work though.
