Make RPM Help (Postfix with SASL)

Having finally succeeded at compiling Postfix 2.0.13 with SASL support
(RH9) for authenticated SMTP (that actually works), it would seem a good
idea to create an RPM in case I want to install it on another machine
or, perhaps, if someone else might need it.
Can someone point me in the right direction? It seems that most Linux
documentation is rather arcane - simulating the endeavors of Talmudic
scholars. Are there some docs, somewhere, for idiots like me that take
the form of numbered steps?
