rpath and LD_LIBRARY_PATH

Hi All

What is the difference between rpath and LD_LIBRARY_PATH in terms of
library search paths at link time?
Which one is better to use. I was using LD_LIB... But my customer says..
Remove it.. Use somethinig else..
